The company traces its roots to Yingkou Medium Plate Factory, established in 1972. In 2002, Yingkou Medium Plate Factory and China Minmetals Corporation jointly founded Minmetals Yingkou Medium Plate Co., Ltd. In 2011, Rizhao Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. became a shareholder, transforming the company into a full-process iron and steel enterprise controlled by a central state-owned enterprise with participation from a private enterprise. In September 2024, Jingye Group merged and cooperated with Yingkou Medium Plate to establish Jingye Yingkou Medium Plate Co., Ltd. After years of tempering, development, reform, and innovation, the company has now grown into a well-known large-scale integrated iron and steel enterprise in Northeast China.

Located in Laobian District, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, the company covers an area of approximately 5 million square meters and employs over 6,000 people. It boasts a complete set of modern iron and steel production processes—from pelletizing and sintering to ironmaking, steelmaking, rolling, and power generation—as well as supporting facilities. Its equipment ranks among the top tier in China. With an annual production capacity of 6 million tons of premium medium and heavy plates and 2 million tons of special wire rods, the company is a key domestic producer of high-end heavy/wide plates and wire rods.

"A backbone by the coast, a force in the steel industry." The company’s production system comprises four segments: ironmaking, steelmaking, rolling, and circular economy.

• Ironmaking System: It houses 4 blast furnaces of 450 m³ and 2 blast furnaces of 2,300 m³, with major technical and economic indicators ranking among the forefront of the iron and steel industry. The company has built 2 large-scale modern fully enclosed material yards, covering a total area of 430,000 square meters—one of the most automated enclosed raw material yards in China. The sintering workshop is equipped with 4 belt sintering machines and 2 pelletizing shafts, among which the 600 m² sintering machine is the world’s largest and most advanced sintering production line.

• Steelmaking System: It features 4 120-ton converters, 5 LF ladle refining furnaces, 2 RH vacuum refining furnaces, 1 8-strand billet continuous caster, and 4 slab continuous casters. Notably, the No. 2 slab caster can produce billets with a maximum cross-section of 475×2,400 mm, making it the curved slab continuous caster with the largest thickness in the world.

• Rolling System: It includes medium and heavy plate production lines of 2,800 mm, 3,800 mm, and 5,000 mm, as well as 3 high-speed wire rod production lines. The 5,000 mm heavy/wide plate line, which fully adopts technologies and equipment from SMS Group (Germany), is the world’s most capable modern production line for rolling. The 3,800 mm medium and heavy plate line is the most automated medium and heavy plate production line independently designed in China. The main equipment of the 3 high-speed wire rod lines is manufactured by SMS Group (Germany), enabling domestically advanced single-line torsion-free continuous wire rod production capacity.

• Circular Economy System: Its generators have a total installed capacity of 320.6 MW, realizing combined cycle power generation using coal gas and steam, with self-sufficiency in electricity reaching 62%. The company has invested 400 million yuan to build 2 slag powder production lines, equipped with main equipment (Flanders vertical mills) imported from Germany, achieving comprehensive recycling of all major waste materials. Additionally, it has 2 sewage treatment plants with a daily treatment capacity of 65,000 tons, realizing the recycling of water resources.

In recent years, it has invested nearly 3 billion yuan in environmental protection, successively implementing a series of environmental improvement projects—such as desulfurization and denitrification for sintering machines, tertiary dust removal for converters, and reconstruction of blast furnace iron tapping yards—achieving progress from the control of organized emissions and utilization of solid waste to the use and transportation of clean energy.
