Recently, a delegation from Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung C&T visited Yingkou Medium Plate of Jingye Group, and held a cooperation meeting with the Global Marketing Center and the technical team. The two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as ship plate supply, technical quality improvement, logistics optimization, and future cooperation opportunities. Liao Heng from the Global Marketing Center presided over the meeting and expressed gratitude for Samsung’s long-term support, especially for maintaining business continuity amid the current fierce market competition. In response, Cho Jee Wook from Samsung Heavy Industries stated that despite facing price pressure, the stable cooperation between the two parties over more than two years had finally led to the conclusion of the long-term agreement order for the fourth quarter.

In the session on cooperation prospects, Samsung Heavy Industries revealed that the bonded area at the Geoje headquarters was officially put into operation on October 1st, creating favorable conditions for business expansion next year. At the same time, it pointed out that South Korea’s shipbuilding industry will maintain a growth trend until 2028, and the demand for ship plates is expected to increase by 5%-10% next year. Samsung Heavy Industries is actively expanding its production capacity, including outsourcing whole-ship processing and outsourced section processing, and the demand for ship plates will continue to grow in the future. The Global Marketing Center stated that it will attach great importance to the opinions of strategic customers and promote cooperation to a new height.

Focusing on specific business links, the two parties held special discussions on technical quality and logistics optimization. At the meeting, Samsung Heavy Industries confirmed that the high-strength ship plates produced by Yingkou meet international standards, but also pointed out that there are still minor issues requiring improvement when compared with its strict internal standards. The Global Marketing Center immediately arranged for the technical team to conduct special docking and follow-up. Regarding logistics, Samsung Heavy Industries stated that the recent cargo arrival situation has improved significantly. The Global Marketing Center clearly promised to work with the port to conduct in-depth research on solutions and at the same time strengthen the supervision of cargo loading to ensure customer satisfaction.

During this meeting, the two parties also discussed the cooperation prospects in emerging fields such as offshore wind power. Samsung Heavy Industries has upgraded offshore wind power to a professional department, focusing on advancing the floating offshore wind power project in cooperation with Equinor. The Global Marketing Center expressed its expectation for future cooperation opportunities, and at the same time emphasized that it will continue to improve the quality of products and services to lay a solid foundation for deepening cooperation. Through this exchange, the two parties have further clarified the direction of cooperation and injected new impetus into future business expansion.
